SMP

Survival, with neighbours

Make a home, work on the build you keep putting off, and find people to play alongside. No griefing or stealing, and an active staff team is on hand.

SKYBLOCK

An island of your own

Every player gets a private island. Start with a small patch and an oak tree, work your way up through the Nether and into an End that is custom to your island, and invite friends to co-op.

MINIGAMES

Quick games, same address

Jump into Kit PvP or run a parkour course. It is all datapack-powered with no plugins. Play a round and head straight back.

PLOTS

Plan before you commit

Plan out your builds before committing. Try the idea on your own plot, then take it into Survival once it feels right.

What we mean by vanilla

The point is to keep Minecraft familiar while giving the community useful tools.

How to join

It takes about thirty seconds.

  1. Open Minecraft Java Edition.
  2. Choose Multiplayer, then Add Server.
  3. Enter play.van-os.uk and hit Done. See you at spawn.

Questions

Is VanOS Java or Bedrock?

VanOS is a Java Edition server.

What does vanilla mean here?

We run an untouched Mojang jar with no Paper and no plugins. Extra features are powered by datapacks and a custom server wrapper, so gameplay stays vanilla with quality-of-life extras on the side.

Can I have my own Skyblock island?

Yes. Every Skyblock player gets a private island, and you can invite friends to co-op.

What are Plots for?

Plots are for planning out your builds before committing, then taking your ideas into Survival.

What are the server rules?
  1. Look after each other. This is intended to be a community server - help new players, share, build together.
  2. No griefing. Don't break, take or change anything that isn't yours.
  3. No stealing. An unlocked chest is not a free chest.
  4. Respect in chat. No harassment, hate speech, spam or advertising.
  5. PvP by agreement only. No spawn camping, no trapping.
  6. No cheats. No x-ray, clients, blacklisted modifications, dupes or exploits - report bugs, don't use them.
  7. Build with consideration. No lag machines or offensive builds.
  8. Staff calls are final in the moment. Disagree? Raise it properly after, not in chat.
  9. If it ruins someone else's fun, don't do it. Common sense covers the rest.
